Framework Agreements: CNES Renewing Cooperation with SPACEBEL

As part of its mission, the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) is brought to develop, maintain and operate space systems as well as ground segments.

At the end of a negotiated tendering procedure, CNES has retained the application of SPACEBEL and has recently concluded several framework agreements with our company. The areas covered are, on the one hand, engineering and on-board/ground system tests, regrouping on-board system simulations, command and control functions, attitude and orbit control system (AOCS), flight software and satellite operations and, on the other hand, space IT for development, operation and maintenance activities for ground-based equipment with a strong component in software specific to the space sector.

  • With the framework agreement relating to engineering and operations for space mechanics and on-board/ground activities – the “system simulation infrastructures” segment, SPACEBEL continues to bring their expertise in the development and maintenance of orbital system and balloon simulation architectures, including the multi-mission BASILES infrastructure, as well as the operational simulators of the PROTEUS platform. These simulators make use of powerful visualization tools such as VTS or PrestoTools.
  • With the “Engineering and on board / ground system tests” segment of this framework agreement, SPACEBEL, as prime contractor, brings its strong skills in the areas of flight software and satellite system simulators and validation benches.
  • Finally, with the framework agreement related to space IT systems, under the guidance of Thales Services, we pursue our collaboration as far as control centres, mission centres, image and scientific data processing systems and data valuation systems are concerned.

The renewal of all these framework agreements for a minimum period of four years further strengthens our cooperation with CNES, which we would like to thank very warmly for their confidence.
