Ariane 6 Maiden Flight: A Crucial Milestone for Europe’s Space Industry
With its new Ariane 6 rocket, Europe is acquiring an essential gateway to Space, thus ensuring the continent's autonomy and growth in the Space sector.
Developed under ESA auspices by ArianeGroup in cooperation with CNES for a 20-year lifetime, Ariane 6 will perform its maiden flight on July 9th at 8:00 PM CEST from the European Space Centre in Kourou (French Guiana).
The heavy-lift launch vehicle, available in two versions (Ariane 62 with two lateral boosters and Ariane 64 with four boosters), is perfectly adapted to institutional and commercial Space missions requiring a wide range of payload capacities and orbit placement specifications. In addition to its great flexibility, Ariane 6 will considerably reduce launch costs compared with its predecessor Ariane 5.
SPACEBEL technology plays a role in the Ariane 6 story. PrestoPlot, one of our main analysis tools derived from the world of simulation and developed for and with CNES over the last 20 years, will make it possible to analyse the launcher's telemetry parameters in real time.
This freeware is an interactive, simple and ergonomic plotting tool for the visualisation of large volumes of temporal data. Originally a standard CNES off-line telemetry tracing tool, PrestoPlot has evolved over time to become an established element in all CNES control centres.
A growing group of users at CNES and other industrial partners also appreciate the benefits of this valuable analysis software.
We wish every success to the many teams involved in the Ariane 6 qualification flight!
